The short version. The Privesso app has no accounts and no server. Everything you mark — the places you have been, the ones you want — is written to your iPhone and stays there. We cannot see it, because it is never sent anywhere.
There is no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party code of any kind inside the app. If you join the waitlist on this website, we hold your email address and nothing else.
Who we are
Privesso is made by Rise Schilling ApS, a company registered in Denmark under CVR 44819929, with its registered office in København K. It is the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at info@riseschilling.com.
The app on your iPhone
The app asks you for no name, no email and no account. It requests no permissions — not location, not your photos, not your contacts, not notifications.
What is stored, and where
Your collection — the trips you have marked as been or want, your home market, and your display preferences — is written to a file inside the app's own storage on your device, together with a few small settings. It is never transmitted to us. We operate no server that could receive it.
Deleting the app deletes that data. If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or to a computer, the backup will include it, in the same way it includes everything else on your phone; that backup is Apple's and yours, and we have no access to it.
What the app sends over the network
The travel data — every destination, every rating, every seasonal figure — is built into the app, so it works with the network switched off entirely.
The one exception is photography. Most photographs are bundled with the app, but any that are not are requested directly from the service hosting them — Unsplash, Pexels or Wikimedia. Those requests go from your phone to them, not through us, and they carry only what any ordinary web request carries, such as your IP address. Each of those services has its own privacy policy. We receive nothing about which pictures you looked at.
While Privesso is in beta
Before release, the app is distributed through Apple TestFlight. If you are a tester, Apple's own terms and privacy policy govern that distribution, and Apple passes on to us:
- Crash reports — device model, iOS version and the technical state of the app at the moment it failed. We use them to fix defects and for nothing else.
- Feedback you choose to send — the screenshot and note you submit from within TestFlight, plus the email address associated with your TestFlight invitation.
Both stop when the beta does. Neither is combined with anything else, sold, or shared.
This website
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts of any kind.
If you enter your email address in the waitlist form, we store that address and the date you submitted it — nothing further. We use it once: to tell you when Privesso opens. It is never sold or shared, and you can have it removed at any time by writing to info@riseschilling.com. The legal basis is your consent, and we keep the address only until the launch invitations have gone out or you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first.
The site is hosted by Vercel, and the waitlist is held in a key-value store provided by Upstash. Like any web host, Vercel processes ordinary request information such as IP addresses in order to serve the page and protect it from abuse. Both act as our processors.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent personal data. There is no circumstance in which we would.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we ask for no permission to.
- We embed no advertising, no analytics SDK, and no third-party libraries in the app.
- We build no profile of you on our systems — the taste model that ranks your recommendations is computed on your phone, from data that never leaves it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, object to our using it, or ask for it in a portable form. In practice the only personal data we are ever likely to hold is a waitlist email address, so these requests are quick to answer. Write to info@riseschilling.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency, Datatilsynet.
Children
Privesso is made for adults planning their own travel. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will revise the date at the top of the page. Any change that materially affects people already using Privesso will be announced in the app or by email before it takes effect.
